Hi, I'm Schei Wang
I am a multidisciplinary designer working at the crosspoint of research, strategy and design.
I design and envision products and services for a variety of spaces: AR, health & wellness, children toys, smart home, and multi-modal AI assistants.
Recently, I worked at Amazon New Device Team on a new-to-the-world home device that will be launched in 2 years and designed the mid-air gestural interaction and in-home multi model experience. Before that, I worked with Amazon UXLAB to conceptualize products and services that are 3-5 years out.
I grew up in Taiwan, Korea and Germany. I have a BA degree in Cultural Studies and Anthropology from Taiwan National Tsing Hua University, PostBacc in Visual Communication Design from School of the Art Institute of Chicago/SAIC, and MFA in HCI at Media Design Practices Program of ArtCenter College of Design, CA
Design Approach
My curiosity about the unknown and ability to simplify ambiguity problems with UX-grounded solutions is my greatest strength.

My work spans across a broad spectrum of design disciplines including Service Design, Design Research, Product Design, Speculative Design and Design Strategy.
To conceptualize future customer experience, my design process involves research, making, and storytelling. To illustrate the story of the future, I write user stories, create visuals like user journey map, day-in-the-life scenarios, interface mockups, animations and films. I worked closely with PM and engineers to deliver product proposal and roadmap to the leadership for better customer experience.

I’ve collaborated with diverse teams across the organization and worked with the external research and design agencies to answer challenges and deliver solutions for varies of products.

Design Philosophy
I believe emerging technologies can meaningfully augment human abilities and enable new sensory experiences. As digital data becomes more immersive, spatial, and personal, interface design must center the human body as the intuitive agent of interaction—adapting to our gestures, perceptions, and intentions to become a seamless extension of ourselves.

My MFA thesis "Intersensing" explored natural human interfaces and envisioned dual-learning systems between humans and machines, creating customized gestural interactions by leveraging individual lifestyles and habits.can deepen our relationship with technology by recognizing the body as an essential exploratory tool.
